OVERVIEW
You are an experienced accounting professional who will be responsible for the financial integrity of the company. This includes management of day-to-day accounting administration collaborating with accounting team, project managers and senior management. You are a problem solver and continuously look for innovative solutions that can be utilized on projects. You will play an integral role on the Henderson team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete month-end close, including reconciliations, reports and analysis.
- Payroll management, including processing payroll, benefits management, and payroll filings.
- Treasury management, including banking, AP, and AR management.
- Providing & develop monthly reporting for cash flow, AR, AP etc.
- Manage weekly, monthly and annual reporting including budgets, forecasts, cash flow, variance analysis, and KPIs.
- Manage year-end tax reporting and compliance, including compilation of financial information and schedules for tax purposes.
- Manage monthly and quarterly tax compliance requirements including GST/HST filings.
- Maintain and manage insurance policies and renewals.
- Collaborate with General Manager on special projects including business cases, profitability reviews and scenario planning, and provide strategic analysis as required.
- Support senior management in strategic planning, providing financial insights and recommendations for improving profitability and operational efficiency.
- Assist in evaluating new business opportunities, including financial feasibility analysis and forecasting.
- Implement relevant controls, corporate policy, and procedures for the overall Finance department.
- Provide advice and recommendations on all finance matters including systems, accounting, tax, analysis and reporting.
- Collaborate with the leadership team and senior management in support of cross-functional initiatives and deliverables.
- Manage and oversee weekly accounting meetings with senior management and project managers to review financial performance, project invoicing and resolve any accounting related issues or concerns.
- Implement best accounting practices and leverage new software and technologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and financial performance.
- Working in a dynamic and growing organization, other related duties may be assigned in support of company needs.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary diploma required, BComm. or equivalent; CPA designation is preferred.
- 3+ years post-designation work experience or 5+ years of relevant experience in an accounting management or controller role.
- Strong working knowledge of full cycle accounting and financial reporting
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic planning
- High degree of proficiency in Excel is required to lead the reporting and analysis function of the finance department
- Tech savvy – ability to quickly become comfortable with our current software which includes Quick Books Premier Contractor Edition & Builder Trend Project Management software.
- Previous experience with Sage & Procore is considered an asset.
- Experience with construction project management software required; preferably Builder Trend & Procore

Overview
The Project Manager leads, directs, and coordinates the daily management of the assigned project(s). This leadership position is accountable for the overall performance of the project including costs, schedule, quality, project status, and adherence to company policies and procedures. More importantly, the Project Manager will manage a successful team and help develop future construction professionals. This is a primarily an office-based role with regular site visits required.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Participate in new project pursuits in support of Business Development.
- Manage residential construction projects from inception to completion, including all phases (Pre-Construction, Construction, Post-Construction), ensuring alignment with safety, quality, budget, schedule, and profitability.
- Lead and communicate with all project stakeholders, including Site Managers, clients, designers, trades, and architects, to ensure effective coordination and relationship management.
- Oversee construction trade & Supplier tenders, bid leveling and contract negotiations.
- Lead and motivate the project team to uphold quality, ethical standards, and performance.
- Lead post project meetings with project team to gather feedback and establish Lessons Learned.
- Create & implement project schedules, cost reports, and ensure that all activities are aligned with project timelines, including communicating updates to all contractors.
- Ensure the successful completion of projects, from bidding and estimating through to closeout, final inspections, and building occupancy permits.
- Manage preconstruction activities (Estimating, Operations Plan, Scheduling)
- Responsible for trade bidding, scope review, bid leveling and awards of subcontracts.
- Ensure Subcontracts (SC), Subcontracts Change Orders (SCCO) and Purchase Orders (POs) are produced accurately.
- Responsible for the change order and subcontract change order process.
- Collaborate with the Superintendent and Safety Director on implementing and enforcing the safety program.
- Manage and develop staff as assigned, including providing input on performance evaluations.
- Always ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements.
- Develop relationships with owners, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Work with Accounting team to initiate Customer Pay Application process monthly.
- Responsible for project and construction schedules and sequencing of work.
- Ensure trade contractors have the latest schedule and are contractually tied thereto.
- Review, validate and manage the project financials commitments.
- Manage closeout process, close out documents and deficiencies.
- Oversee project coordinators connected to projects being managed.
- Utilize Buildertrend to set up the project, input budget estimates and proposals, manage timesheets, and oversee project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with BC Building Code, zoning laws, industry regulations, and required certifications (BC Housing, National Home Warranty, Renomark).

Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years experience in managing residential projects, delivering quality homes on time and within budget.
- Post-secondary education (Diploma or Degree) in a construction-related field
- PMP Certification (would be an asset)
- Must have complete understanding of prime contract procedures to ensure clear concise execution of design-build agreements, CCDC-2 Stipulated Sum & CCDC5b Construction Management contract types
- Fluent & comprehensive communication of the English language in verbal & written communication.
- Ability to read and understand all drawing disciplines including architectural, interior design, structural, mechanical, electrical, and communications.

Overview
The Residential Site Manager is responsible for overseeing all construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and in compliance with company policies and procedures. Working closely with the Project Management Team, the Superintendent will manage, coordinate, and schedule all construction operations to ensure timely and successful project completion.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Overall project lead and primary point of contact for all site conditions on residential projects
- Oversee scheduling, supplier deliveries, logistics, quality control, site related staffing, and coordination of trade work.
- Ensure coordinated project operations by managing trade work, resolving issues related to procedures, design clarifications, labor, equipment scheduling, and other project matters.
- Manage the overall site safety program, ensuring subcontractor compliance with Henderson standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations specific to home construction.
- Supervise and develop Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and/or Interns, as assigned, including providing input on or completing performance reviews.

- Communicate with owners, architects, engineers to resolve field issues and ensure project alignment.

Overview
Reporting to the General Manager, the Project Coordinator will work closely with Project Managers and Site Superintendents to ensure project plan administration supports the execution of field operations. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of project execution in an administrative capacity, providing comprehensive support to multiple Project Managers throughout the lifecycle of commercial tenant improvement (TI) projects, from initial planning and setup to project completion, ensuring timely coordination, documentation, and successful project delivery. This is an office-based role with selective site visits as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for assisting in administrative project set-up and establishing document controls under the direction of the Project Managers.
- Assist with preconstruction planning activities including look ahead schedules, health & safety set up, Procurement, Construction Logistics and Project Execution Plans.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of tender packages, review subcontractor tender proposals, and provide recommendations to clients. Support subcontract award cost coding.
- Assist with obtaining all permits and local authority permission to build.
- Work closely with team members and decision makers to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective project delivery.
- Assist in creating change orders (CO’s), track requests for information (RFI’s), review and coordinates approvals of shop drawings, and coordination of information provided and required by sub-trades and suppliers.
- Participate in weekly subcontract progress meetings and progress tracking.
- Assist with updating and maintaining weekly master project schedule and ensure Superintendent look-ahead are aligned.
- Provide support in setting up the billing schedule with the client and execute the billing and invoicing.
- Proactively identify, address, and resolve project issues and potential risks before they escalate.
- Manage subcontract & sub-contract change order submittals
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with client(s), consultant(s), sub-trades, and suppliers.
- Aid Project Manager in ensuring project health, safety and environmental standards meet legislated requirements and company policy.
- Assist with the completion of any deficiencies and issues related to the warranty period.
- Creates deficiency reports in collaboration with project manager and site manager.
- Coordinates deficiency resolution with project manager, site manager, sub-trades and customers.
- Support the Project Managers in ensuring total completion of project including contractually and financially.
- Assist in completing project close out including close-out report, final purchase orders and outstanding charges.

- Previous experience with a Tenant Improvement design-build General Contractor is considered an asset.
